Hey there friends!

We’re Shana and Darci, cousins from the Midwest who have been on a wild, amazing journey over the past few years. 

It all started in 2019 when a bumpy bus ride in Northern Ethiopia sparked a business idea. After a yearlong discussion, we launched Araya at the end of 2021, focusing on sourcing raw materials (aloe, avocado oil, etc) from Ethiopia and making products to sell in the US.

We worked with entrepreneurs in Ethiopia for two years, and after some challenges and discoveries, we sensed a pivot coming. Along the way, we’ve learned so much about the potential of impact businesses. Business is one of the most effective ways to alleviate poverty, and lives can be transformed when a business has greater goals than just profitability. We’ve met people committed to social, environmental, economic, and spiritual impact who are deeply impacting people through their businesses. 

So here we are - sourcing products from around the world to connect you with the amazing businesses people are building to drive change in broken communities and expand the Kingdom of God.
